Seiffen church with popular Romy Thiel miniatures
The Seiffen village candle arch with Romy Thiel children shows our famous Seiffen village with the world-famous Seiffen mountain church in the middle. The octagonal construction and the church tower with bells were modeled on the Dresden Frauenkirche.
To the right of the church, three lantern children from Romy Thiel's Erzgebirge manufactory carry their lanterns through the village wrapped up warmly and cheerfully. The lanterns are made in various shapes, as a moon, star or square. On the left, Striezel children (children, who sell small Erzgebirge carvings and goods in their vendor's stores on the streets) complete the Christmas scenery .All miniatures by Romy Thiel are lovingly designed with many details. The children are wearing hats, gloves, scarves and warm boots and are well protected from the cold in their coats. One girl is wearing a long skirt. Their lovely faces are finely painted.
The use of light and dark local woods makes the figures, the houses and the church appear more natural. The atmospheric picture is rounded off by two turned curly trees, which stand behind the lantern children.
