The Seiffen village is always a special attraction during Advent and Christmas days. Here in the toy village, old traditions are preserved and cultivated.
A visit to the Seiffen mountain church is practically a ritual for guests to the village. During the service, the church choir and the village brass band get the Christmas season in the right mood.Important companions are the Kurren singers, which consist of a group of children and young people from the village. They not only take part in the church service, but also go from house to house during this time, to bring the Christmas message to the families.
Seiffen village candle arch shows life in the toy village

A total of four Kurrende children stand to the right and left with their singing books. Another child is carrying a lantern and a star. The typical clothing of the little singers consists of a black cloak (cape) and a headdress.Nowadays, the real Kurrende children wear thick bobble hats, so that they don't freeze in the harsh winter. On this arch of lights, they have small hats on, which were worn in the past.
Atmospheric lighting for Christmas
The use of dark and light native trees and shrubs creates a beautiful contrast in the figures and buildings, which is shown to its best advantage here. At the edges of the arch are a small miner's house in their typical Erzgebirge style with gabled roofs. Here, too, the little houses exude a homely feeling from the inside thanks to the built-in lights. An eye-catcher is the illuminated lantern, which sends its light into the evening sky between two carol singers. An equally curved wave-like strip under the candle arch suggests the sky. Seven rippled candles sit on the candle arch and their warm light creates a Christmassy atmosphere.
